Description of EPD

Electronic Professional Development (EPD) cultivates

  • your students’ academic achievement
  • your own professional growth.

You can learn with

  • no disruption to your classroom
  • no travel
  • no attending workshops at inconvenient times.

The courses in this series offer

  • self-paced interactive study
  • hands-on learning
  • accompanying guidebooks
  • networking opportunities with colleagues
  • interaction with an online professional developer who serves as a coach to guide you on this journey.

EPD is designed for Florida’s teachers, particularly in middle and high school. If you are a teacher in an academic or career content area who is interested in enhancing the effectiveness of your instruction, the courses in this series will assist you. Inservice points may be earned through your school district or local FDLRS center.

Components of the EPD Website

The EPD website includes these components.

  • online resources
  • an introduction to the module
  • a learning package for specific routines organized into four phases of professional development
  • references to the printed guidebook for the specific Content Enhancement Routine for the course.

As part of your enrollment in this course, you will be given a printed copy of the guidebook that accompanies the routine. You will need to be able to access the information contained in the guidebook as you progress through the online course. Keep it beside your computer so you can refer to it when we identify specific pages.
